Quick answer: Here is how to find a job in Dubai: pick two or three target roles, build a CV that recruiters can scan in seconds, apply to named and verified employers, and get a written offer before you travel. In the UAE the employer applies for your work permit and visa, so you should never pay for a job. A free, candidate-first platform such as Joblancer covers most of these steps in one place.

Dubai draws workers from more than 200 nationalities, and Saudi Arabia, Qatar and much of Europe are hiring too. That also means heavy competition and plenty of fake offers. This guide shows how to find a job in Dubai, how to move abroad with a job already signed, and where to search so your time turns into interviews.

How to find a job in Dubai: start with a narrow target

“Any job in Dubai” is not a search plan. Choose two or three roles that match your experience, using the job titles Dubai employers actually use, which often differ from those at home.

Then tailor your CV. Keep it to two pages, and state your city, notice period and that you can relocate near the top. Show results with numbers, and use the advert’s keywords so applicant tracking systems, the software that screens CVs, rank you higher.

Not sure how your CV reads? Joblancer has a free CV check on its home page. Upload a PDF, DOC or DOCX and you get a job readiness score out of 100, the three countries where your profile is easiest to hire for, and the roles you should apply for. You do not need an account for your first check.

Where to search for jobs in Dubai and the UAE

Use a mix of sources rather than one big job board:

    • Company careers pages of the 10 to 20 employers you would most like to join. Check them every week.
    • Job platforms that name the employer, so you can research the company before you send documents.
    • Licensed recruitment agencies that tell you who the client is. Under UAE rules the employer pays recruitment costs, not you.
    • Your own network, including former colleagues already working in the Gulf.

Why Joblancer is one of the best options for UAE job seekers

Most job boards were built around employers who pay to advertise. Joblancer is a free, candidate-first job marketplace focused on the UAE and the wider Gulf, with country pages for markets such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Singapore, Spain, Portugal and Poland. For foreigners searching for jobs in Dubai, five things stand out:

    • Verified employers. Every company is checked before its jobs go live, and each listing names the employer.
    • An AI match score with reasons. The fit check compares your CV with a job and shows a score out of 100, your strengths, your gaps and the keywords to add.
    • One-step apply. Complete your profile once, then apply with your saved CV. Each job also shows where your application goes: Joblancer itself or the employer’s own site.
    • Employers can find you. Your profile can appear in a talent directory that employers search. They see your headline, skills and city, never your email or phone number, and you can hide your profile at any time.
    • No fees for job seekers. Joblancer does not charge candidates any recruitment or hiring fee.

Getting started takes a few minutes. Sign in with Google or an email code, fill in your profile, add your CV and run a fit check on the jobs that interest you. The step-by-step Joblancer guide for candidates shows every screen, and you can browse current jobs on Joblancer without an account.

How do you move abroad with a job already signed?

The safest way to relocate is to secure the job first and travel second. In the UAE the usual path looks like this:

    1. Apply and interview, often by video if you live abroad.
    2. Receive a written offer. For a mainland company it comes on the standard offer letter of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), with a reference number you can verify. Free zone companies use their free zone authority instead.
    3. The employer applies for your work permit and entry permit. This is what visa sponsorship means in practice.
    4. You arrive, take a medical fitness test and give fingerprints for your Emirates ID. Your residence visa follows.

Have a passport valid for at least six months, and start degree attestation early for skilled roles. Some home countries add exit rules. Indian workers with an ECR passport need clearance on eMigrate, and Pakistani workers need the Protector of Emigrants sticker. Emirates Insight explains the Pakistani route in its guide to getting a job in Dubai from Pakistan.

Prefer to search on the ground? The UAE job seeker visit visa needs no sponsor and is open to skilled workers and recent graduates of the world’s top 500 universities, for 60, 90 or 120 days. You cannot work on it, so switch to a work visa once hired. Check current fees on the official UAE government portal.

The same logic applies elsewhere: Saudi Arabia and Qatar run employer-sponsored work permits, and the EU’s EURES portal lists vacancies and routes for non-EU workers. Before accepting any offer, compare take-home pay with local costs. Our Dubai cost of living guide is a good place to start.

How to spot a fake Dubai job offer

    • You are asked to pay for the job, the visa, a medical test or “processing”.
    • The offer arrives only on WhatsApp or from a free email account.
    • There is no MOHRE reference number, or the company cannot give its trade licence number.
    • You are told to fly on a tourist visa and “convert it later” without a signed offer.
    • The job or the visa is “guaranteed”.

A genuine employer gives you a written offer and time to read it.

    Frequently asked questions

Can I get a job in Dubai from abroad?

Yes. Many Dubai employers hire from overseas and interview by video. Get a written offer before you travel.

Who pays for my UAE work visa?

The employer, who also applies for your work permit. The UAE government portal says recruitment costs are the employer’s responsibility.

What is the best website to find jobs in Dubai?

Combine company careers pages with a platform that verifies employers. Joblancer is a strong choice because it is free for job seekers, checks every company and shows an AI match score for each job.

Can I work in Dubai on a job seeker visa?

No. The job seeker visa lets you stay and look for work. You need a work permit from your employer before you start.

This article is general information, not legal or immigration advice. Visa rules and fees change, so confirm the details with MOHRE, the UAE government portal or a qualified adviser.
