Lucy Dacus has revealed that she plans to officiate fans’ weddings during her upcoming North American shows.

The singer-songwriter is set to launch her ‘Forever Is A Feeling’ tour – named after her fourth studio album from this March – on Friday (July 25) at Philadelphia’s FDR Park.

She first ventured the possibility of using the shows as marriage venues earlier this month, writing on X: “If I figure out a way to marry people at my shows, are there people who would be interested? Just thinking about how there may be many people looking to secure those rights asap for whatever reason (!) or maybe money or logistics are getting in the way – would do this for free.”

Now, after an apparently enthusiastic response from fans, she has given an update on how the ceremonies could go ahead. Sharing a link to her website, she wrote on Wednesday (July 23): “I’m officiated in the U.S., only a few cities on this tour may not be possible, all the info is at the website, including how to get your marriage license by state. (Seems like it will be pretty easy, you’ll just need to bring your marriage license to the box office and we’ll return it by the end of the show.)”

“I can think of all sorts of reasons people may be interested in securing the rights granted through marriage (you know what I mean?), so if you’ve had it in mind forever or are just recently making the decision, I will be honored to do the honors!”

In a four-star review of ‘Forever Is A Feeling’, NME wrote: “Though it exudes plenty of joy along the way, ‘Forever Is A Feeling’ doesn’t shy away from the more daunting aspects of being totally obsessed with somebody; “This is bliss, this is hell,” Dacus sings on the title track. “Forever is a feeling, and I know it well.” Though longing and mortality have long been recurring themes in Dacus’ music, the stakes feel even higher – and even more gripping – when there’s so much to lose.”

It was later named as one of NME’s best albums of 2025 so far.

Elsewhere, at a recent show in Dublin, Dacus covered Fontaines D.C.’s ‘Roy’s Tune’ – watch footage here.
